I am a lifelong student of the healing arts, a traveler on the winding path of evolving consciousness, and a lover of nature and animals. The first 10 years of my professional practice was motivated primarily by what had helped me heal my own pain: by age 22 I was already throwing my back out and nursing several chronic injuries from high-impact sports (downhill skiing, competitive horseback riding, and rugby), which traditional medicine had not been able to help me heal. Through college, while intending to go on to medical school, I discovered the power of hands-on holistic modalities such as osteopathy, structural integration, and neuromuscular therapy. I was already working part time as a massage therapist, and found great joy in not only helping people relax, but being able to make a lasting difference in their physical health. When a combination of high-level bodywork and the Egoscue Method of Postural Alignment helped me to heal severe long-time knee pain, I decided to pursue holistic healing so I could offer it to others. I often sought mentors who could teach me more than I could learn in any class, and I used my own body as a practice ground. I had a successful career in functional fitness as well, but have chosen to hone my hands-on skills and focus primarily on massage therapy. When I suffered numerous major injuries after being run over by a car in 2022, I was able to draw on my knowledge to ultimately achieve full recovery, and I now enjoy a pain-free, fully functional experience in my body. I am always learning from my clients and do extra research when needed on their individual conditions. While I have a deep grounding in western understanding of anatomy/physiology, I also enjoy studying the principles of theology, mythology, philosophy, history, shamanism, astrology, herbalism, nature medicine, and spirituality of all kinds. At the time of this writing, I am most excited by the emerging research in massage therapy as an effective treatment for mental health disorders and trauma. It is my intention to serve the world with love and enthusiasm in any way I can.
